What steps did you take to prepare for surgery? I'm interested in hearing anything from cleaning your home to meditation to adding extra protein to your diet to stocking up on colace!

Here are some things I'm preparing:

Having lots of bed pillows for my bed, maybe even bringing the recliner into my bedroom!

Upping my protein before and after surgery

freezing meals ahead of time(woud love some freezable meal ideas!)

What else? :?:

What a great question! Practicing relaxation techniques are extremely beneficial in preparing for your upcoming surgery. We suggest that you let the nurse assigned to you that you need 10-15 minutes prior to going into the OR to be alone and use that time for going through a relaxation.

If friends are asking what they might do to help, assign someone to coordinate the others for transportation to Doctor appointments and other tasks that might be needed. This way you are getting your needs met and your friends can feel good about being helpful in a way that is meaningful to you.

Foods for the freezer?...well, eggplant parmesan, cooked chicken breasts.

Wishing you an easy healing.
Mollie
